Summer, Rudbeckia texana

We think that the spring burn was very beneficial to the Texas coneflower (Rudbeckia texana). In the early summer, we are seeing a lot of conflower and Rattlesnake Master (Eryngium yuccifolium) at almost 6' in height.

Ragweed remains a management issue; we also think that the fire invited a lot more ragweed to dominate the plots with a great deal more germinating at the perimeter plots and less in the central plots.
